Antique solid 15ct gold Roman scene carved Cameo brooch pin
Antique 15ct gold cameo brooch. This has to be one of the best Cameo brooches I have had the pleasure of offering! The early 1900's framework has been tested as 15ct gold, its scalloped claws holding the cameo securely. The Cameo appears earlier than the setting, scenes in cameo jewellery being much rarer than their portrait counterparts. Definitely Roman in presentation, this incredibly well carved image displays a beautiful patina and I was very tempted to add a bale for pendant conversion! Antique, mesmerising and quite unique, this piece is ready for it's place as wearable jewellery or display amongst other miniatures. In lovely condition, there are minor surface marks inline with age. We received positive review by the highly regarded American Southeastern Antiquing and Collecti. Stems from my love of flowers.
